    My ghost encounter years ago

    By Ms Chor Lor | March 4, 2009 | 108 views

I have always believe in ghosts and stuffs. But never really had an encounter before until once, when a group of us went “exploring” at the Old Changi Hospital. I had an encounter that I will never forget and cause me 2 weeks of sleepless nights during that time.

First look at this sketch that I draw myself.

    untitled

Those of you who been there before, will know this long staircases climbing up from the main road up the slope to the back entrance of the hospital. So we were standing all together there. There were 12 of us and we were walking in pairs.

As you can see in the sketch, on the left is a dead end with 3 empty rooms. On the right is the side where all the wards are, this area is very big and long. The opposite direction which we came up from will be heading out towards the carpark where you come in through the chalets side.

The whole place was quite dark and we were just holding torchlights. While we were standing around there, stopping to discuss where to go next, one of us went to the corner with the empty rooms to explore and see. Now this is when it happens!

While he was walking back to the rest of us, everyone of us heard a “sigh”. Now you probably think what was so scary of the sigh, or we were just thinking too much.

BUT the sigh did not come from anywhere! It typically comes from the “AIR”! Now visualize this with me. Imagine there are little pieces of rectangles floating on air passing around us. This sigh was just like resting on one piece of this rectangle, and float through right pass our ears. If it’s a sound made from someone or somewhere, you can tell straight away. But this was coming through the “AIR” itself! And not just one of us, but every single one of us heard it.

And this “AIR with sigh” floats right out from the corner with the rooms, and there was no one there!

Just imagine after everyone one of us heard this, all our hairs just stand up. You won’t know the feeling and how real it is unless you are there yourself. By this time, all of us were so scared, we cuddled and squeezed together in a circle, pushing each other. Some of us were so scared, they started chanting and praying.

We decided to leave the place immediately by walking towards the carpark.

And just when we want to walk off, another “shout” came from the bigger hall with the wards. This one do not sound as scary as the “air” as it was not floating on air this time. It does sound a bit human, but we just can’t be sure. And it was a shout of anger. Just like “arghhhh!” in a low and angry way. As if asking us to leave there, or trying to tell us that we made “him” angry and he’s angry. We wasted no time and quickly left that place.

All of us were literally like still shivering from the scary encounter. We were discussing what could that “air” be and we were all definite it is not any human. But we did doubt that shout, it could probably be a human, or maybe some drug addicts who was hiding inside taking drugs. We wanted to investigate and confirm it was a human, but were to scared to carry it out.

After going home that night, the “air” was still always on my mind. For 2 weeks, I dare not sleep with the lights off. If I switch off the lights, I will remember the whole incident and get too scared to sleep.

From then onwards, everytime my friends ask me to explore the place again, I never dare to follow again. And I’m really impressed some of them still dare to.

I see images of people… do you call them ghosts or spirits?
Can they touch or feel us? They are very real.
