The ‘Gay’ Forest Part 1

Many many years ago, probably before year 2000, when the Marina area was not so developed yet, there exist a very famous forest for the gay community in Singapore, ‘The Gay Forest’.
This is actually located right along Fort Road, just opposite the Katong Park. I don’t think it still exist because you can see that it has been blocked up by constructions going on there.
Usually the gays will just call it ‘Fort Road’. And the mention of it is understood where it is.
Only those in the community will know where is the ‘entrance’. Unknown people who sees you walking in won’t even know where you are going or what you doing inside at all. It usually takes about half an hour or so to walk all the way in.
The path is muddy on rainy days. The first few km you walked in will actually be big empty space. Next, you will come to a section of forest and trees. Walking further in beyond the trees, you will finally come to the beach.
This is the so call ‘naked beach’ which has come out in many newspapers during that time, reporting of how gays were being caught naked there blah blah blah.
The whole place is considered a 24/7 place. It is most crowded on weekend nights. Yes, there are even people there in the daytime, supposingly going for a naked sun tan.
This place was so hot, it was even listed and recommended on overseas gay magazines and tourist guides.
Over the years, with the police strictly monitoring that place, plus all the construction going on now, I think the place is already history. Or it’s not? Any gays out there know? lolx.
