New sports in town ! Fishing in a field !

This was the first time I heard of this new ’sports’ too!
Yes! It’s ‘fishing’ in an open field with a fishing rod!
The official name for this sports is call ’surfcasting’. And you don’t fish for fish, you just simply throw the line of the fishing rod and see who can throw it the furthest!
This rods are almost similar to real fishing rod, but they are not strong enough for real fishing, but just used for surfcasting.
A weight is attached to the end of the line, where a group of rivals will throw their line and see who throws it the furthest.
A local group call Distance Surfcasting Group was formed just for such enthusiasts. They meet up regularly to practice or to surf together. Competitions are also held at times.
And if you think this is a bo liao sports just for the old, then you are wrong. It attracts the youngs just as well.
And it seems though Spore is new to this sports, this sports have been in some countries for quite a while.
