Government to build a cat park for that one person who walks his cat in a city of million population?

    By Ms Chor Lor | July 17, 2009 | 485 views

Firstly, not that I discriminate cats. And doesn’t means that cats need to be less care of or deal with. BUT…………………????

I was like so stunned when I came across this ‘request’ by a STOMPER……………..don’t know he or she, but let’s presume she since guys unlikely to keep cats.

She was angry that Singapore only have dog runs for dogs, but nothing for cats………………!!!????

Meaning, for dog lovers, we have an enclosed fence up area specially for dogs to run freely in Bishan and West Coast Park.

So this cat lover wants something like that for her cat too! Come on, say you really have such a park for your cat to ‘roam’ freely, the first thing they’d do is jump over the fence and say bye bye to you! On the other hand, dogs are almost impossible to jump over the fence! Unless you want a totally enclose caged area, then your cat won’t escape lor.

Next, how many people you see on the streets and parks, walking their dogs?

AND HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU EVER SEEN IN YOUR WHOLE LIFE WALKING A CAT ????

And I know of many people who kept cats, the cats always have the freedom to run in and out of the house that you don’t have to worry about them much. Because they are always very clever to return back to the same house at the end of the day, or they never roam far.

Given a dog, do you think you can still see your dog if you let it run freely? People would have snatch it and dognap it home when they see it without its owner!

But who will snatch or catnap a cat on the street?

She was even saying ‘loudly’ she did leash her cat like people leash their dogs, so she should have a park for cats………….

Then how about SHE writing in to AVA, cat keepers should apply for a cat license as well? Which in actual fact and law, NO CATS ARE ALLOW TO BE KEPT IN HDB LEGALLY under HDB rules, and you still dare to announce to government you keep cats…………..they just close one eye only…………

And lastly, how many people will actually be like her to voice out and request such a park for cats? Not much! Because everyone knows, cats are good jumpers, you can never confine them! When did you see a dog jump up a roof or tree?

Unless you going to leash your cat everywhere you go……………………..nothing to say. Ok, maybe that’s not a trend in Singapore yet. But I think most people will know, between cats and dogs, which is more meant to be stray than house kept?

Minority speaks no weight. Say we really have a few more people like her who wish to have a park for cats, how many? 1000 can?

So do you think the government is going to build a park specially for these 1000 people? Against a ratio of millions population on our island?

Then cat parks won’t be the first thing they give. Gay marriage will be! And the repel of 377A ! Because there are definitely more gays voicing for gay marriage than cat lovers voicing for a park in Singapore!

This is not a war of cats and dogs, but rather ask something more logical and practical lah……………..

Actually I did not find her stupid for posting that at first, until you should see all the comments replied to her, then we realise that is actually a very stupid post.

Actually you are the stupid one. Cats can be trained to walk on leash especially certain species. Cats are also social animals and can benefit from interacting with others. Do your research beforehand because you just made a fool of yourself. And AVA rule on cats in HDB flats are seriously outdated and ought to be changed. See the Cat Welfare Society website for the list of reasons. Don’t believe everything the law says. Laws can be obsolete, just like people.

and you tink the government is going to listen to the cries of the minority?
people asking for a park for cats, how much percentage is that in terms of the whole population?
how much percentage is that in terms of people who keep dogs?>

it’s the same as the gays, lesbians and us asking the government to change the laws on gay marriage.

they aint going to hear the voices of the minority

it aint going to cause any changes

the idea of having a park for cats may nt be stupid
but requesting one actual one from the government is stupid
