Have you ICE your handphone yet ?

Have you ICE your handphone yet?

Do you even know what is ICE? Not that illegal pills that you put into your mouth!

ICE stands for “In Case of Emergency”.

ICE is a programme started by a British paramedic in 2005. It is use to place before the name of the contact person in your handphone phonebook.

These are the people that you wished to be inform first and most in the case of an accident or emergency.

For example, our mum and dad. So you will put ICE mum – 91234567 in your phonebook. Then say you fainted on the street. Paramedics, doctors, police will probably search through your phone and come across the ICE, which will be the people they contact first.

Just imagine, without ICE, and with 100 numbers in the phonebook, who do we call? (ghostbusters!)

The sad thing is, this system is only practice more in Europe, Australia and some parts of America. I don’t think it is really much practice here.

It’s probably time we should try putting ICE into handphone. Though we may not know of it, but who knows, the person who rescue us may know what is ICE when they see our handphone.

Start using ICE in your phone now. Spread it to your friends, your family. One pass one, ten pass ten, then we will get more people to come to know about it!

Especially people who does not put mum, dad or dear into their contact, which these names should be quite obvious. Say we just use their normal names or christian name, now who is going to know which is your mum, which is your boyfriend?

For my own phone, I actually put ICE to a few of my friends as well, as once anything happen to me, this person will help to spread to the whole world of people who knows me lolx.
