Why people never stop on Msian highways to help?

I think some of us will probably hear of many news about accidents along the Malaysia highways especially the Northsouth highway.
Then these victims will sometimes wave their hands frantically at passing cars asking for help. And yet at most times, it seems that not a single person will want to stop and help.
But have we really give a thought on it? Are these people really totally heartless?
No, we can’t really put the blame on them. Why? Because of fear! What fear? Fear of robbery of course!
We often hear of news how the robbers will think of smart ways to trick people into stopping their car on the highways, and ended up getting robbed!
Such as pretending their car broke down, wants a ride or help fixing the car, tyre puncture, even robbers who actually fake accidents to stop passing cars and rob them!
Who will still dare to stop their car? While a part of us will really hope to help, there’s also a part of us, that makes us worry about our safety! We just won’t know when is real and when is not…………….
I will gladly admit, if I am one of the passer by, I will definitely worry whether it is a robbery!
Just imagine, it’s late at night some more, on the highway, having news of so many robberies, don’t you get worried?
Not trying to be any political here, I would feel much safer stopping if someone needs help on a Singapore expressway instead. Hey but there are really heartless Singaporeans out there who really will never bother! I remember a recent news about a woman needing help on the PIE and yet nobody is helping her at all.
Anyway, it was never really safe to be stopping along an expressway right? So that’s probably also why people don’t stop?

Exactly. I agree with you. Who knows what will happen if we stop. *Sigh*..when we really need help and it didn’t come..so frustrated. And how we hesitate to stop and help because of there’s less and less trust nowadays

If i see people asking for help at highway, I ll juz call for police….I think its gd both way…I think the police ll be more then willing to help them.
