Baby elephants tortured at young to train for circus

The pictures taken by a former trainer showed how young elephants were tortured at young to train for circus. These pictures were released recently after the death of this trainer in the hope to shed light to this kind of ill treatment.
The baby elephants were separated from their mum at young. They were tied to their legs with ropes which pulled them to the ground. And if they misbehave, a metal hook pole will be use to subdue them.
They were forced and trained to perform tricks to prepare them for the circus.
It is said these methods are ’standard operating procedures’ among all circus training.
